Out and about

Summer weather is finally here, and June 5 we attended our second Cardinals' game of the year. This time we were able to get to the ballpark early enough to go down by the field during practice, then up to our high-altitude seats to watch the Redbirds win (which isn't happening a lot this year, sadly).

Four days later we celebrated our 28th anniversary (28?!) with dinner and drinks on the third-floor balcony of Lewis & Clark's restaurant in old town St. Charles. (Thanks to Carol and Paul for the gift certificate some time back.) After moving furniture all day -- another story -- it was a relaxing, intimate dinner for two on a warm, lazy evening. Just right for eating, drinking, and people-watching ... there were a couple of wedding parties in the park below, a beautiful sunset sky, horse-drawn carriages passing by the old buildings, and we could even see the Missouri River on the other side of the park.

Memorial Day Weekend

We took the G6 on a "short" drive up to and around southern Michigan over Memorial Day weekend to visit and celebrate with family. First stop was Kitty's parents on Saturday, and then Sunday at Carol and Paul and Bradley's for church, an afternoon of games and laughter, and a gourmet picnic dinner.

Several walks around the neighborhood, a ride in the G6 for Brad, a couple of movies, and lots of great food - then we were ready to sit down and listen to Brad play his clarinet. He played several songs very well, including Amazing Grace and Let's Go Blue!

Monday it was off to Mike & Mandy's to catch up with Greg's side of the family. What a wonderful sunny day for playing around in the pool - volleyball, basketball, and trying to drown each other! How else to follow that but with a few spirited (and competitive) croquet matches ... the pregnant chick and her husband showed us how!

At the end of the day a wonderful celebration of Grandpa DeWilde's 75th birthday, Mandy's birthday, and a shower for the baby.
